At the heart of le19M, a scene unfolds. A meticulously pruned grove hosts the foundational gestures of Maison Michel's savoir-faire, perpetuated by the block makers, hatters, milliners, and straw stitchers.
Starting September 23rd, the public is invited to discover the behind-the-scenes of creation, where material meets the hand. A stack of wooden blocks, a door covered in black felt, and a floor covered in raffia compose an atelier landscape, evoking the various stages of making a hat.
In this space, artisans showcase their techniques: shaping the wood, molding the felt, stretching and pleating the fabric, braiding and sewing the straw. Precise skills, passed down and perpetuated since 1936, which give rise to Maison Michel's creations, from haute couture to special designs.
